Lieutenant of Police Henry Asplan, Deputy Sheriff Adolph Imfeldt and Sanitary Officer Richard Davis, all veterans of the Spanish War, will go to Louisville next Monday as delegated from Newport and Campbell County to the National Encampment of Spanish War Veterans.

Henry A "Biz" Asplan, former resident at 524 Columbia street, Newport, died Friday at the Veterans Hospital, Columbus O. He was 66. A former Newport detective and policeman, Mr. Asplan formerly was superintendent of the L&N bridge. A Spanish American War veteran, he was a member of the A M Wetherill Camp USWV, Alexandria. He also was affiliated with the Newport Eagles, the Holy Name Society and Immaculate Conception Church, Newport.

He leaves four brothers, Charles, Frank and August of Hamilton O. and John of Kalamazoo Mich. and two sisters, Miss Clara Asplan and a nun Sister Louisa of the Cross of Notre Dame Convent, Cincinnati.

Prayers will be said at 8:30 am Monday at the Muehlenkamp, Costigan & Roll funeral home, Newport, followed by Requiem High Mass at 9 am at Immaculate Conception Church, Newport. The place of burial has not been announced.

The A M Wetherill Camp No 5, Spanish War Veterans and Ladies Auxiliary will meet at 8 pm Sunday at the Muehlenkamp, Cositgan & Roll funeral home Newport for special services for Henry A Asplan, who died Friday at Veterans Hospital in Dayton O. Mr. Asplan was a member of this organization. He will be interred in St Stephen Cemetery, Hamilton O.

Henry August Asplan was born 13 Jan 1879 in Alexandria Ky, to Henry and Cynthia (Leitz) He enlisted in the US Army 31 Oct 1898 and served in the Spanish American War.
