STINE, ONCE IN RACE FOR MAYOR, IS DEAD
Word of the death of Harry S Stine, 66, at one time candidate for
mayor of Newport, at his home in Seattle, Washington, was received in Newport
Wednesday night.
He lived in Newport for a number of years, but moved to Washington 20 years ago Albert J Berry was his opponent for mayor. Stine was defeated. Later he became the candidate of the Republican Party against A L Renscher and again was defeated. He served as deputy Campbell Circuit Court clerk under Phil Veith.
Since moving to Seattle, Stine had become affiliated with the firm Meek & Co. Dr. Fred Stine of Newport is a brother. The funeral will be held in Seattle and the body will be buried here.
