Exemption board examiners, working on testing men selected for the national army service in Campbell Co. sitting at Ft Thomas city hall, Friday were getting close to the end of their first call list. The following in Campbell Co were rejected because of physical disabilities.

Newport Exemption Board Monday mailed more than 100 notices to Newport men notifying them their names had been certified to the district board at Lexington. Following is a list of  names who have been passed as physically fit for service and who have made no exemption claims.

Word has been received in Newport that Harry B Leslie, private, former Newport boy, has made the supreme sacrifice on the battlefields of France. Leslie's mother, Mrs. Catherine Leslie, now lives at Seymour Ind.

The soldier was inducted into the service by the Newport Selective Board a year ago and had been in France since May.
