Pursuant to decree
of the Campbell Circuit Court, will be sold at the door of the courthouse in
Newport, on the 22nd day of February next, on a credit of 12 months, to
the highest bidder, 500 acres of land on Licking River, about 16 miles above
Newport, also a likely Negro girl slave, belonging to the heirs of Capt.
George Harris Dec'd late of the aforementioned county.
The Negro girl is about 12 years of
age and very likely. The land lies in four separate farms, Viz.: one farm
commonly known by the name of Harrisburg, containing 188 acres, upon which
a town has been laid off and some lots sold, but they have all been
repurchased excepting 9 or 10 lots. This farm will be sold subject to that
encumbrance.
Also a farm of 152 acres, on the
opposite side of the river, with is improvements. On this farm, the Widow
Harris has had her dower assigned to her, and it will be sold subject to
that encumbrance. Also, two other farms with the improvements, One
of these contains 100 acres and the other 50 acres each having improvements
on them . It is deemed unnecessary to give a minute description of the
premises, as the purchaser will be required to give bond and approved
security in case of the sale of the land and Negro. Our attendance will
be given by Samuel Baker, Com'r.
