DEATH ON TRESTLE

Detective Gaffney and Coroner Tarvin, of Covington, yesterday began investigation the mystery of the death of Gus Williamson of Newport, whose mangled body was found in the trestle work of the the C&O bridge in Covington. It was 2:30 Sunday morning when a cut of cars crossed the bridge, the engineer telling the men to look out for the body of a person whom he believed he had run over.

On their return Brakeman Hoskins discovered the body. It was learned yesterday that Williamson was seen about 1 am Sunday by Officers Sheeran and Flynn at Fourth and Columbia streets, in Newport. He was then on his way to Newport and spoke to the police. What the authorities would like to know is where he spent the time from 1 am until he was run over by the cars.

Williamson's funeral will take place tomorrow morning. Services will be held at the First Baptist Church, in Newport. Rev Dr. Perryman will officiate at Evergreen Cemetery.
