Greer T Neal, 49, of 610 Lexington av. Newport, Spanish American War Veteran, will be buried Thursday in St Stephen Cemetery following a requiem high mass at Immaculate Conception Church. Neal served under Lieutenant Edwin Bell in Co L Eighth US Infantry and was a member of expedition over the Sinoloan Mountains in the Philippine Islands. He served for two years in the islands.

In August 1914, Neal suffered a tumor on the brain which resulted in blindness. Recently he lost his hearing. He is survived by his widow Alice Kelly Neal and his parents, Samuel and Laura Neal. Neal was a member of the A M Wetherill Camp, SAWV Newport. The Wetherill Camp will have charge of the funeral.

Members of the A M Wetherill Camp No 5 USPV will meet Wednesday at 7:30 pm at Fourth and York streets, Newport, and go to the home of Greer T Neal, 49, of 610 Lexington av. Newport, and hold services for the latter.

Neal, a Spanish American War veteran and member of the Wetherill Camp will be buried Thursday in St Stephen Cemetery, following a requiem high mass at Immaculate Conception Church. The deceased is survived by his widow Alice and his parents, Samuel and wife.

Rev Joseph Whalen, spiritual director of the Holy Name Society of Immaculate Conception Church, Newport, has called a meeting of members for Wednesday at 8:30 pm at their hall, 134 W Fifth st. to take action on the death of a member, Greer T Neal, 48, of 610 Lexington av. Newport. The society will go to the home of Neal in a body to hold services.

Members of the A M Wetherill Camp No 5, Spanish War Veterans Camp No 5, Spanish War Veterans, also will meet at 7:30 pm at their headquarters, Fourth and York streets, Newport, to complete arrangements for attending the funeral. Neal will be buried Thursday with requiem high mass at 9 am at Immaculate Conception Church. Burial will be in St Stephen Cemetery.
