STORM IN CAMPBELL COUNTY
Mrs. Edward Delauney, wife of a farmer residing about a mile from
Alexandria, the county seat of Campbell County, Kentucky, was probably fatally
shocked by lightening yesterday afternoon shortly after 4 o'clock. When the
storm approached Mrs. Delauney went into the yard and was standing near a down
spout at the corner of their home. Just then a bolt of lightening struck the
corner of the house, jumped to the down spout and passed to Mrs. Delauney,
hurling her to the ground.
Her husband carried her into the house and summoned Dr. Zinn, who found that, while she had not been burned, her whole system had been injured by the lightening. She was unconscious for some time, but late last night revived sufficiently to recognize those about her.
The storm in the southern end of the county was accompanied by a severe electrical display that lasted for some time.
