RIVER GIVES UP

The body of Goldie Adams, the wife of William Adams, a rolling mill man, who committed suicide by jumping from the Fourth street Licking River Bridge, was recovered yesterday morning near the mouth of the river. Charles Unglesby, a river man, made the discovery and coroner Digby was at once notified. The remains were taken to Funeral director Betz's morgue.

The act of the young woman has completely unnerved her aged mother, Mrs. Bell, and she is under surveillance at her home, 133 West Fifth street, after having made two attempts to do herself bodily harm. No cause is assigned for Mrs. Adams rash act, except that she was despondent because of family troubles.

It was learned that her husband is seriously ill at Ironton Ohio, where he went after leaving his wife. The funeral will take place tomorrow afternoon with interment at Evergreen Cemetery.

Attorney Howard Benton, representing William Adams, will file an answer in the Circuit Court today to the petition filed by Sadie Bell for adoption of the latter's six year old granddaughter, who is the daughter of Adams.

Goldie Bell, mother of the girl, committed suicide by jumping into the Licking River several weeks ago. Later Sadie Bell filed a petition alleging that the girl's father was addicted to drunkenness and that at his wife's grave he had asked the grandmother to take charge of the child.

In the answer the father denies the charge of drunkenness, denies that he is not a fit person to have the custody of the child and asks that the little girl be given into his keeping.
