Gilbert M Martin, 532 Riverside drive, Newport, has announced his candidacy for city commissioner. Mr. Martin, a World War veteran, is a life long resident of Newport. "I am not allied with any group, but believe all commissioners, the mayor and city manager should work in harmony for the welfare of the city and its citizens." Mr. Martin said.

Gilbert Michael Martin died 10 Nov 1966 in Cincinnati and was buried in St Stephen Cemetery.
