NEWPORT
The German Pioneers celebrated their twenty-ninth anniversary at Huber's Garden. The German Pioneer Society of Cincinnati, the Sons of German Pioneers of Newport, the Arion Singing Society, the Suablan Benevolent Association and many prominent German citizens were in attendance.
The German Pioneers, led by Hoffstetter's Band, marched to Huber's Garden. Mr. Lucas Sauber introduced Mayor Hembold, who delivered the welcoming address. Mr. Jule Birnbaum made the festival speech, which eluted much applause. The Arion Singing Society rendered a number of songs, which were well received.
