NEWPORT
The funeral of the late Dr. George W Thornton took place
yesterday from St Paul P E Church. Rev Estell delivered the funeral sermon
according to the ritual of the Episcopal Church. A large funeral cortege
followed the remains to the grave in Evergreen Cemetery.
Messrs. Joseph G Fifth, John B Taylor, A B Jones, P B Spence, O N Root and Jerome Clark acted as pall bearers.
