George Smith

Alexandria Deed Book R, page 371, 28 February 1837-recorded 1 July 1847

Indenture made 25 February 1837 between George Smith, Adam Shafer and Henry
Keyler of the one part and Meredith H Herbert of the other part.  Smith, Shafer and Keyler
hold jointly the fee simple to a tract of land in Campbell County conveyed by John Walker
and wife to them by Deed bearing date 25 January 1835 and of record in Campbell County
Court Clerks Office in Deed Book 1, page 526, containing 158 acres and whereas the
said Smith, Shafer and Keyler have agreed to divide the said tract of land between themselves
as follows-64 acres 1 rod and 28 poles to said George Smith; 64 acres 2 rods and 28 poles
to Adam Shafer; and 30 acres 2 rods and 7 poles to Henry Keyler and whereas the said George
Smith hath sold his portion of said tract of 158 acres to the said Meredeth H Herbert, and
the said parties first named being willing and desirous to Convey the same agreeably to
the division between them, aforesaid and the sail {sic} to said Herbert.

Now indenture-George Smith, Adam Shafer and Henry Keyler for and in consideration
of the promises and of the sum of $1 to the said Shafer and Keyler and $200 to him the said George Smith sell 64 acres 1 rod and 28 poles of land aforesaid on the waters of four Mile
Creek in the County of Campbell...George Smith and Catharine his wife, Adam Shafer with
Susannah his wife and Henry Keyler with Henrietta his wife.
