SENIOR INQUEST
Coroner Higgins yesterday held an inquest over the body of George
Senior, who shot and wounded his wife early yesterday morning at her mother's
home and then sent a bullet crashing through his own brain. The verdict was that
the deceased came to his death as the result of a bullet fired by himself with
suicidal intent.
Mrs. Senior is able to be about, although she must keep her wounded ear bandaged up for some time. She will be badly scarred for life, as a large piece was chipped out of that member. Her escape from death is considered miraculous as her husband was standing within three feet of her when he began firing.
It developed yesterday that only four shots were fired as one of the chambers of the revolver was not loaded. Senior's funeral will take place Thursday from his father's home, 218 Columbia street and the remains will be interred at Evergreen Cemetery.
