PFC. George F North, 20, son of Mr. and Mrs. George North, of 329 Linden avenue, Newport, has been missing in action in France since Dec 7, the War Department informed his family. Overseas for two months, Pfc. North entered the Army in June 1943. Serving with the infantry he was a graduate of Xavier High School, Cincinnati.

Solemn Requiem High Mass for Pfc. George F North, 20, son of Mr.
and Mrs. George J North, 329 Linden Avenue, Newport, will be sung at Immaculate
Conception Church, Newport, at 9:30 am Saturday. Burial will be in St Joseph
Cemetery, Cincinnati.
Private North, who was killed in action in France Dec 7, 1944, was a member of the 100th Division, 399th Infantry. He was a graduate of Xavier High School, Cincinnati and was attending Xavier University at the time of his enlistment. Besides his parents he leaves two sisters, Kathleen and Eileen North, both at home, and his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Margaret North, Newport.
James Wallace Costigan Post, American Legion, will conduct military services. Gold Star Mother of Campbell County will hold services at the Muehlenkamp funeral home, Newport at 7:30 pm Friday and the Campbell County War Dads will meet at 8 pm Friday.
