NEWPORT
A PIONEER CITIZEN GONE
Newport is again called upon to record the death of one of its
oldest and most respected citizens in the person of Mr. George Morris, who died
yesterday evening at his home, Isabella and Lewis streets. He was 60 years
of age and leaves a wife, three sons and a daughter, the latter, Miss Clara
Morris, a popular school teacher.
Mr. W H Morris, one of his sons, who is at present in attendance at the World's Fair, was telegraphed for and will be home today. The funeral will take place tomorrow afternoon.
