NEWPORT
Ex-Deputy Sheriff George Hindman was yesterday taken to Speers Hospital,
suffering from a stroke of paralysis. He had has several friends fear that he
will not be able to stand much more. The last stroke he sustained has affected
his vocal chords and he experiences considerable trouble in making himself
understood.
Hindman was Deputy Sheriff under Jule Plummer and assisted in the execution of Scott Jackson and Alonzo Walling. He is a prominent member of the Knights of Pythias.

NEWPORT
The funeral of former Deputy Sheriff George Hindman took place
yesterday afternoon, services being held at the Congregational Church on York
street. A large number of the Knights or Pythias and Masonic Lodges attended the
services.
The remains were interred at Evergreen Cemetery.
