DEATH
A prince of good fellows and one of the best known salesman that
traveled from this city passed away when George E Fee died at 8:20 pm last
night. He had been ill for eight months with Brights disease and was conscious
up to the moment he expired. A few hours before his death he told his wife that
he would get well and live for many years. The end came at his home in the
Imperial Flats in Nelson place, Newport Ky.
He leaves a widow and a five year old son, George, a brother, Frank P Fee and a sister Mrs. W Duffy. The deceased was well advanced in years and leaves his family well provided for. His wife was Miss Josephine McKernan when she married him 10 years ago. The deceased was the son of the late O P S Fee, a prominent merchant and Democratic politician of Felicity, Clermont Co Oh, where he was born and raised.
For many years he was a salesman for the wholesale clothing firm of the J & L Seasongood Company of this city, and for the past quarter of a century had been traveling in the East and West for the Sunnyside Distilling Company, in which he was a partner up to the time of his death. Before moving to Newport, he resided at the Gibson House and other hotels in this city.
He was one of the early members of the Cincinnati Lodge of Elks and it was his request that it should conduct his funeral. This will take place from his late residence Thursday morning.
