Cincinnati Enquirer, 23 March 1897, page 7

George C Cox, one of the best known young men of Newport, died yesterday at his home on Robert street, after a lingering illness.

He was a clerk in the Cincinnati Post office for four years. Several months ago he was attacked with severe hemorrhages while at his post of duty and was brought to his home and never recovered, gradually wasting away until death ended all yesterday.
