At a late hour on Saturday night, two men, Lewis Belts and George Cope, had some difficulty on the Alexandria Turnpike, three miles from Newport and during the disturbance the former was cut by his adversary in the right arm and in the left thigh, making serious though not dangerous wounds.
A warrant was issued yesterday for the arrest of Cope, who will be examined today before Judge Nigman.

George Kopps, not Copes, as stated in yesterdays issue, was examined before Esquire Nigman on the charge of stabbing Lewis Betz. Kopps was discharged on the grounds of acting in self-defense.
