George Christopher, aged 35, of Tenth and Isabella Streets, Newport, was drowned at Anderson Ferry Sunday morning at 11 am. He was one of a fishing party encamped at that place and started in a skiff to cross the river. A short distance from shore and in but four feet of water he fell into the river and was drowned before assistance could reach him.
The body was recovered shortly after and taken to the home of relatives.
Page 8-George Christopher, 35, single, of Isabella Street, Newport, was drowned in the Ohio River near Anderson Ferry Sunday. He was in company of a party of friends and while crossing the river, his skiff caught on a bar. In endeavoring to shove it off, Christopher lost his balance, fell overboard and was drowned in four feet of water.
A boy named Louis Arico was in the skiff at the time. Chrisopher's body was recovered. He was a chum of Frank Lindeman, who was killed by a train at Culloms Station Saturday.
