DIED AT HIS HOME-George Bregel, 42, brother of Night Police Chief Frank Bregal of Newport, died Monday evening at the home on Hodge Street, after a lingering illness. A widow and one child survive him. Some time ago he was operated on for cancer in the hope of saving his life. After the cancer in the leg was disclosed it was found that death would result if it was removed and the incision was again sewed up.
Bregel was told that the cancer was removed but his relatives were warned that his death would be sure to follow in a short time. He was well known in Newport. The body was moved to the residence of his mother, 316 West Tenth Street. The funeral will take place Thursday morning with services at St Stephen Church.
