Frederick W Manter, 76, a pioneer merchant of Newport, died yesterday at the home of his son, Henry Manter on Saratoga st. Decedent was a native of Cincinnati and from 1853 to 1856 was a member of the old Volunteer Fire Co No 7 in Cincinnati. Three sons and a daughter survive him.
The funeral took place this afternoon from the residence of his son and four members of the Fireman's Protective Association of Cincinnati and four members of the American Protestant Association acted as pallbearers.
