CAPTAIN HARTWEG

Captain Fred Hartweg, 62, a well-known river man, died Tuesday night at his home in the Highlands, Ky. He was single, and made his home with his brother, Gottlieb Hartweg, near Ft Thomas.  He had been in poor health for about two months. Monday, he returned home earlier than usual, and complained of not feeling well.  A physician was summoned, but Captain Hartweg was found to be beyond medical aid.

Captain Hartweg was a member of the Chamber of Commerce, and had been engaged in river business nearl y all his life. He was the junior member of the firm of Collins & Hartweg coal and transportation, with offices in the Mitchell building.  He was formerly President of the Huntington and St Louis Towboat Company.
