ASSAULT-The trial of F Haas, charged with assault and battery is on in the Campbell Circuit Court Monday. He was indicted by the grand jury for an assault of William Lawney at Hass' saloon at Ft Thomas some months ago. Lawney entered the saloon with a dog, which got into a fight with Haas' dog. Haas, is is alleged used a club, killing Lawney's dog and badly bruising Lawney himself. The trial had been postponed on account of the illness of Haas.

DISMISSED-Fred Haase, the saloon keeper of Ft Thomas, was dismissed in the Circuit Court in Newport on the charge of assault and Battery. It was alleged he struck William Lawney on the head with a club. The testimony was that the blow received by Lawney was meant for his dog, which was fighting with a dog belonging to the proprietor.

Fred Haas Sr. of Thomas av. Ft Thomas, will be arraigned next Monday evening in Squire Quehl's court to answer 12 warrants, each charging him with selling liquor without a license.
