At the request of his relatives Fred Birsinger of 714 Dayton st. Newport, was locked up yesterday afternoon by Patrolmen Kearns and Brumfield for safe keeping. Birsinger, members of the family told the police, has been acting strangely and Tuesday night threatened to end his life. Yesterday he again made threats and his relatives had him taken into custody until his mental condition can be investigated.

He has been at the asylum but was recently discharged as cured.
