 Frank Edward Streine was born in Gerringswalde and married Emilie Emma Scheibner there.  He left for the United States arriving December 18, 1884 and the rest of his family emigrated from Bremen Germany arriving in New York April 9, 1887.

 Early in his life, Frank Hugo (switched his name sometime early in life) turned his attention to practical mechanics and after serving an active apprenticeship with the G. A. Gray Co, planer manufacturers in Cincinnati, he then worked there as a journeyman until 1901.   He attended the Ohio Mechanics Institute and there became qualified as a mechanical engineer. 

After his marriage to Emma Brendt, daughter of Gustave Berndt and Carolina Marsch, he located at Ft. Thomas, Ky., and not long afterward was placed in technical charge of the waterworks plant at Newport and was thus engaged for two years (1912-1914). He was superintendent of construction of the water works and in charge of the rebuilding of the reservoir and a pump house.  He was also in charge of a water purification plant.  At the end of which time he was placed in charge of the plant of the Bricket Machine and Manufacturing Company of Cincinnati, where he remained as general manager of the concern until 1918.

Elizabeth was a seamstress and clothing fitter; Caroline a teacher; Amelia was involved in the Women's Suffrage movement and writer who served as President of the New York Women's press club, and Emma a homemaker who died at the age of 38.  It was at this time that Caroline took over the care of Emma's four young children and eventually married their father Frank Streine.

Eastern Stars, president of the N.B. Women's Club, and active in the Zion Church Women's Guild.
