Another of the force of Newport letter carriers has tendered his resignation to Postmaster John Meyers to engage in business, making the third of the force to leave for similar purposes. His resignation was tendered to take effect June 15 at which time Roll will become a partner in the undertaking business of M J Costigan. Roll has been a letter carrier for 13 years and he leaves the service with a fine record.
R L Collins and Harry McHenry are the other two veterans who have resigned and they will embark in business pursuits.
