Franklin Prague Shaw

The Legion of Merit has been awarded Col. Franklin P Shaw, Newport attorney, for "exceptional work while serving as staff judge advocate to the commanding general of the Air Technical Service Command, Wright Field." He was assigned to that duty between September 1939 and July 1945.

The Newport attorney is a veteran of World War I when he served as an infantryman. He has served since that conflict as a member of the judge advocates division. Col Shaw now is stationed in Tokyo as judge advocate of the Pacific Air Command. His wife, Inez Shaw is en route to join him.

All of the couples three sons served with the infantry in World War II. They are Capt. Franklin P Shaw Jr. stationed in Frankfurt, Germany; Lt. Henry Shaw in Seoul Korea and Robert T Shaw at present  student of the University of Arizona. The Shaws formerly lived at 37 Ludlow avenue, Ft Thomas. Col Shaw and his son, Harry, met recently in Japan. Three sisters of the Colonel live in Ft Thomas. They are Mrs. L L Ross, wife of Dr. L L Ross, mayor of that city; Mrs. F T Miles and Mrs. Watson Ross.
