NEWPORT
MILITARY EXECUTION AT LEXINGTON-We learn that a young man named
Frank Gardner, from Newport, was shot at Lexington Thursday by order of the
Provost Marshal. His offense was disorderly conduct and disobedience of
orders.
A young man named McKee, who it will be remembered obtained his release from Colonel Mundy's regiment last fall, by means of a writ of habeas corpus, was in the guard house on a very serious charge. He resided in Newport.
