Kentucky Post, Wednesday, 17 June 1903, page 5
Frank Fields, the popular Sergeant Major of the Third Infantry,
stationed at Ft Thomas, surprised his many friends Tuesday by slipping down to
Newport, where he was united in marriage to Mrs. Mattie A Drake, of Warren, O.
The ceremony was quietly performed by Rev Dr. Robinson, pastor of Taylor Street
M E Church.
Mr. and Mrs. Fields left Tuesday night for the bride's home and other points in Ohio. Sergeant Major Fields has a 20 days' furlough. He has an enviable army record and has lately passed a severe examination for Post Quartermaster Sergeant.
