Frank Joseph and Elizabeth Brinkmann
Frank Brinkman was born in Hanover Germany 21
Nov 1840. He emigrated to the United States in 1859 and was in Cincinnati by 1870
working as a cabinet maker. He married Elizabeth Moeller in 1876. She was born
in 1857 in Germany also. Frank joined the Confederate Army when the Civil War
began. He served in Co. A, 4 KY Cavalry as a Musician–Chief Bugler. After the
marriage, the family moved to Newport where Frank worked as a steamboat cook.

Elizabeth Moeller Brinkman died 22 August 1901 in Newport and was buried in St John's Cemetery. By 1910 Frank, a widower, was living in Southgate and working as a bridge contractor, meaning at the time he stationed and collected fares on the bridge from Newport over to Covington.
Frank died 21 June 1916 in Southgate of
diabetes and was buried 24 June in Evergreen.
