SUDDEN DEATH
Yesterday morning the hospital ambulance was summoned to Clifford
House at 506 Broadway, to remove Florence Gray, 21, who was seriously ill. She
was taken to the hospital, and Dr. Davis, of Price Hill, was sent to the
institution by order of the Probate Court to examine her as to her sanity.
It developed that she was suffering from intestinal obstruction and her condition grew worse. In spite of all the physicians could do she died shortly after noon. Colonel Washington, in whose family the girl was employed, called at the hospital to see her, as did her father, from whom she had been separated for three years.
The Coroner was notified of the death and will hold an inquest today.
The deceased and another young lade, engaged a room at the Clifford house in the best of health, but Thursday night was taken ill. The dead girl's parents reside at 24 Robert street, Newport.
