THREE STABLES BURNED-A VALUABLE HORSE PERISHES IN THE FLAMES
About four o'clock yesterday morning, a fire broke out in the stable of James Tucker, situated on James Alley, between Saratoga street and Washington avenue. The firemen were a long time getting the alarm and the result was that Mr. Tucker's stable and two others, one belonging to Edward Amann and one to Joseph Harcourt were destroyed.
William Jackson Gosney's fence and coal shed were also consumed and Mr. Amann's residence was slightly damaged. The latter gentleman is fully insured in the Kenton of Covington.
A horse belonging to Mr. Conlon for which he had recently been offered $250, was burned to death in one of the stables. It is supposed the fire was the work of an incendiary. The stable of Mr. Tucker, where the flames were first discovered, was destroyed by fire about a year ago.
