FIRE AT NEWPORT
The Land Oil Factory of Moses Shipley in Newport Ky. was consumed Monday morning by fire. Nothing was saved from the building save 6 barrels of Land Oil. Mr. S had an insurance for $2000 which will about cover his loss.
Two samll dwelling houses were likewise destroyed-one was occupied by Mr. Cohagen, furniture mostly destroyed-no insurance. The other belonged to Captain Doughty; his furniture was mostly saved, but much damaged in moving-no insurance. The family were all absent.
