FIRE IN NEWPORT
Between 1 and 2 o'clock this morning a fire destroyed the
distillery of H T Jasper, in Newport. It was a large three story building,
situated opposite Finchtown, on the bank of the Licking between Burnet and
Patton streets.
The loss is estimated at $50,000; insured for $25,000 in Cincinnati Companies. The distillery had been closed since last March and the fire was evidently the work of an incendiary.
