Finchtown Flood

FLOOD SUFFERERS
About 150 head of cattle that are being fattened in Henry Budde's
cattle pens at Finchtown Ky. were removed yesterday as it was feared the swift
current of the Licking River would wash out the pen.
The houseboat of Elwood Healey had a wild ride down the Licking River coming from just below the ripples, where it had been frozen in. Healey poled his boat through the treacherous current in safety until he reached Finchtown, where he worked it closes to the bank and then made a thrilling jump for life.
His efforts were watched by a large number of people, who gave him a rousing cheer. The houseboat continued on out into the Ohio.
