Mayor Nelson Thursday morning appointed F A Autenheimer a member
of the Board of Aldermen in Newport, vice Dr. A Helmbold, resigned. The term is
only for one meeting, but he was elected to succeed Dr. Helmbold in the board
commencing Jan 1. Autenheimer is a Republican, but the Mayor considered it
courtsey to appoint him as he will be a member the first year by election
There is lots of business to finish up from Thursday nights meeting and the Mayor wanted to be sure a quorum would be present.
