DAYTON KY
Eugene Rankle, 32, who died late Saturday night of tuberculosis,
lost a game fight with the great white plague. Up until a year ago Rankle was a
big powerful man and was prominent in amateur baseball circles. Consumption then
laid its dread hand on the made and he began steadily to decline. He did not
die, however, without making a game fight.
When told by his physician, Dr. Wm A Young, that he needed fresh air most of all, rankle erected a tent on the hillside back of Dayton and lived there day and night throughout the bitter cold of winter. He is survived by a widow and two sons.
The funeral will take place tomorrow at 1:30 pm from the residence and interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
