Requiem High Mass for Pfc. Eugene Philip Ader, who died July 12,
1944, at Periers, France, will be sung at 9 am Wednesday at St Therese Church,
Southgate, following prayers at 8:30 am at the Betz funeral home, Newport.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. The soldier was 28 at the time of
death. He was the son of Mrs. Elizabeth Ader and the late Frank G Ader,
prominent Newport contractor.
He died July 12, 1944 of wounds sustained in battle. He was awarded posthumously the Silver Star for gallantry in action and the Purple Heart. He was graduated from Immaculate Conception Grade School and attended Millersburg Military Academy. Rankin-Proutt-Carius Post, Veterans of Foreign Wars, will meet for prayers at the funeral home at 8:15 pm Tuesday and will be followed by the Holy Name Society of St Therese Church. Friends may call after 1 pm Tuesday.
Besides his mother he leaves two brothers, Frank G and Herbert F, both of Newport, and two sisters, Mrs. R C Brown, Buffalo NY and Miss Betty L Ader, Newport.
