Essie Wagner
Kentucky Post, Monday, 27 June 1910, page 2
Miss Essie Wagner, of Bellevue, was painfully injured yesterday at Lexington, when a severe storm blew up. Miss Wagner and a party of friends had gone there to spend the day and were met at the depot by an automobile belonging to friends. The party entered the machine and Miss Wagner chose the front seat with the chauffeur.
While on the way a severe storm blew up and something struck the windshield of the machine, breaking the glass, which struck Miss Wagner in the face, cutting her in three or four places and probably disfiguring her for life. Miss Wagner's mother had a presentiment of danger. She was sitting on the front porch of their home on Ward av. when the strong wind blew up here yesterday afternoon. Getting up she went into the house and exclaimed: "Oh why did Essie go? I know that something has happened?" Others in the party were not injured.
