The funeral of Private Ely Parker, Company B Second Infantry,
took place at 10 am yesterday from the drill hall. Brief religious services,
conducted by Chaplain Pruden were held over the body.
The entire battalion accompanied the remains to the limits of the reservation and a firing party of eight privates, under the command of Corporal Pagel, Company D, Second Infantry, fired a salute over the grave at Evergreen Cemetery.
