Elmer Carson, 29, who claims to live in Newport, was arrested Tuesday morning, in Covington, by Patrolman Pickett and held on a charge of petit larceny. Carson made his appearance at the Hatfield coal fleet Monday night, drunk.
While walking along a barge, he fell into the river and was fished out by several employees on the fleet. His trial was continued until Thursday.
