A SOMEWHAT MYSTERIOUS DEATH
Ellen Bell, the old woman who fell Saturday evening at the corner
of Fifth and Washington avenue, died yesterday at the residence of Mrs. King on
Washington avenue, where she was employed as a domestic. Dr. (Benjamin) Rachford
waited on the woman and sad that the cause of her death was from hemorrhages and
so signed the death certificate.
Coroner Davis is inclined to think that the doctor was a little premature in signing the certificate as he did as he says that the circumstances surrounding her death are such as to warrant an inquest, and intends to enter into an official investigation.
The remains were taken to the home of the deceased at No 111 Southgate street.
