Humane Officer Graff, of Newport, Thursday, removed to St Elizabeth Hospital, Covington for treatment Ella Black, the 11 year old girl, who was taken away from John Black for alleged abuse. The child's condition is very serious. Dr. Clarke, the physician in charge of the case, says she may died, as scrofula and brain trouble have developed.

Ella Black, 11, of Alexandria, who was taken away from her step grandfather, John Black, because of neglect, is reported dying at St Elizabeth Hospital, Covington. Humane Officer Graff of Newport, stated Tuesday that the child had lost her sight completely in the last two weeks and her body is eaten up with sores.
