PIONEER PASSES AWAY
Elizabeth Thatcher died yesterday at her home near Alexandria,
aged 93 years. Her death was at the old homestead in which she was born
and it is said she is the oldest continuous resident of the county. She
was a member of a family noted for its longevity. A brother, Judge Edward
Reiley is 91 and Franklin Reiley died a few years ago at the age of 93. A
sister, Nancy Wright is now 89 years of age and is the mother of Judge James C
Wright of this city.
Mrs. Thatcher was the mother of Edgar Thatcher, who served as Deputy Sheriff of the county for 16 years. A son, William Thatcher, who served a number of terms as a Treasurer of the county, and two daughters survive her. the funeral will take place Monday morning from the Alexandria Church.
