Edward G Wilson
Kentucky Post, Thursday, 15 December 1904, page 7
Physicians and nurses at Speers Hospital say that the gamest and nerviest man ever seen there is Edward Wilson, who was shot by his father in law, W H Dueker, Sunday night. Two bullets still are in his body and doctors have repeatedly probed for them. Wilson refuses to take anesthetics and for hours has to endure agony, he does not show by word or action what he is suffering.
When a Post reporter called at the hospital this morning he was found walking about the ward in his stocking feet. He refuses to discuss his case. The man's vitality is remarkable and the doctors say he will likely recover, although one of the bullets penetrated his head and lodged near the brain. Chief of Police Long is watching the case closely and it is thought Wilson will soon have to explain about carrying two pistols in the city.
Dueker remains at home with his family under $300 bail bond and says he will be ready for his trial Dec 23 before Judge Mader. To the Post he stated no one could make him leave the city.
