NEWPORT


Dr. Edward G Thomasson, 42, one of the best known physicians of Newport, died yesterday at Christ Hospital, following an operation that was performed Saturday for kidney trouble. Dr. Thomasson, with his wife and children, went to Brevoort Lake about a week ago to seek relief from hay fever. The Michigan climate was curing his aliment nicely when he was stricken by a complication of diseases that affected his weakened condition. It was found necessary to hurry him home.

He arrived in Cincinnati Thursday night and an operation was deemed necessary, but he began to sink Saturday night and passed away yesterday. Dr. Thomasson leaves a wife and one son. He was a member of Twin City Council, Jr. Order UAM and that lodge will hold a meeting at Odd Fellows Hall tonight, to make arrangements for the funeral. The services will be held at Evergreen Cemetery chapel tomorrow afternoon at 2 pm.

Dr. Thomasson was born near Alexandria, the county seat of Campbell County and was educated in the common schools of the county. He graduated from the OHio Medical College in 1889, and shortly after began the practice of medicine in Newport. He enjoyed the respect and confidence of laymen and his fellow practitioners alike. He was also a member of the Odd Fellows.

One of the shortest wills recorded in the Campbell co Court fo years is that of Dr. Edward G Thomasson, of Newport, which was probated yesterday. The document reads: "I give and bequeath everything I possess to my wife, Ida J Thomasson and name her executrix without bond."
