The Newport Board of Police and Fire Commissioners at the special meeting Monday night, appointed additional men for the force. John Amrein and Thomas Fitzsimmons were selected as regulars. James Ratican and Dennis Flynn were promoted from substitutes to regulars and Joe Ward and Larry Donavin were made first and second substitutes.
Edward Doran was made a regular fireman at the One's engine house.
