Edward Jolly, superintendent of a stone quarry near Mentor, Campbell County, Ky. narrowly escaped being crushed to death in a blast Wednesday. He was standing near a huge pile of rocks and when the charge exploded it scattered the stone in all directions.

One piece was tossed high in the air and fell on his head, rendering him unconscious. He was removed to his home and up to Thursday morning he had not regained consciousness. The attending physician is of the opinion his hurts are fatal.

Edward Jolly, foreman at the stone quarry near Melbourne Ky. whose injuries by an explosion was detailed in Thursday's Post, is in a serious condition. His skull is fractured and it is feared he is internally injured. He regained consciousness after many hours.
