The body of Edward M Berry, First Class Private, who died in France is on route home, his mother, Mrs. Ida Berry of Clifton was informed by officials of the War Department. Berry was a member of the 209th Trench Mortar Battalion, Eighty-third Division. The body will be buried in Evergreen Cemetery.

Edward M Berry, 30, who was gassed while fighting with the 308th Trench Mortar Battery, 83d Division, will be given a final burial in Evergreen Cemetery Wednesday afternoon. Before the hero is laid to rest services will be held at the home of his sister, Mrs. F L Moore, 21st st. and Alexandria Pike, Clifton.
Members of the James Costigan Wallace Post, American Legion, Newport, will hold services Tuesday night. Berry was gassed while in the Argonne Forest, four days before the armistice was signed. Berry is the son of Ida Berry.
